Dinks

Win the kitchen with touch, patterns, and patience—without giving up attackable balls.

Quick start
  • Keep the paddle in front and contact out in front of your body.
  • Aim for a soft arc that lands near the opponent’s feet.
  • Use crosscourt as the default: more net clearance and room.
Common mistakes
  • Trying to ‘do too much’ instead of playing to a safe target.
  • Hitting down on dinks (pop-up risk).
  • Standing upright instead of staying athletic and balanced.
Drills
dinkdinkingkitchen
  • 50 crosscourt dinks without missing (restart on error).
  • Two targets: 10 dinks to inside foot, 10 to outside foot.
  • Dink → speed-up decision drill (only speed up true floaters).
